The Katonah Book Group
History
For two decades, members of the Katonah Book Group have met once a month in each other's homes to discuss literature, drink wine and talk about life, love, politics, schools, art, movies, health and whatever's on our minds. We've taken field trips including a couple to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We saw Eve Ensler in the Vagina Monologues. Over the years we've survived a hurricane and devastating illness, mourned the loss of friends and relatives, raised children, trained dogs, changed jobs, worked towards Masters degrees and PhDs. We've read hundreds of books ranging in quality from mediocre to suberb. We often disagree, sometimes we fight to get a word in edgeways but there has never, in all these years, been a single boring moment.

In 2020 during COVID the group transitioned to Zoom, allowing members who had relocated to participate again.
In December 2021, before Omicron drove everyone apart once again, several current and ex group members gathered to celebrate the holidays with charades, mimosas and the traditional, highly competitive, book swap.
